Pondpro2000 is a specially formulate Butyl Liquid Rubber coatings that provides excellent waterproofing and ultraviolet resistance that is demanded by the rv owner. With over a 30-year history of success it is a product that has been trusted by pond repair shops as well as D-I-Y customers. It has excellent adhesion to properly prepared surfaces. It is thermally stable and resists cracking and peeling due to weather extremes. Most recently we have introduced a mildewcide into the formula to deter mold and mildew from growing on the roof. Its unique properties is in the manufacturing process. This product cured by a chemical cross-bond; meaning as the product dried it will chemically bond itself to the roof it is being applied allowing for superior adhesion and longevity.

TYPE OF APPLICATIONS:

  • EPDM
  • Metal
  • TPO
  • Fiberglass
  • Hypalon
  • Foam

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface must be free from oils, moisture soil and another contaminates that may interfere with proper adhesion. Remove loose material from seams and surface. We suggest washing the roof with Dawn or Simply Green and add two cups of bleach for every gallon of water along with your detergent. This will kill any mold spores on your roof.

APPLICATION TEMPERATURES

For best results, the temperature of the ambient air and the substrate should be within a range of 50°-100°F. however lower temperatures can be utilized if you are using a roller and brush and not airless sprayer to apply.

APPLICATION METHODS

The most effective method of application is by a combination of brush, roller. After mixing the product, pour out the material in a figure "S" pattern on the large flat surfaces of your pond then distribute the material with your 3/8th inch roller. For smaller ponds and vertical’s a paintbrush is the appropriate application method. Be sure prior to the application to caulk your joints and cracks with our Rubex Caulk. It was field tested to be compatible with our PondPro. If you have an existing epdm liner, it is important for you apply a very light coat (a flash coat, approximately 4 mil or the thickness of 2 pieces of paper). Failure to do so will result in swelling of the membrane which will require additional days for the product to settle. For EPDM liners, apply a “flash coat” (a very light coat) approx. 200 sq. ft 1.5 gallon resulting in 6-8 Mil. Then, let the flash coat dry for at least 24 hours. Cooler temps or high Humidity may retard cure times. Then apply the main coat at 2.5 gallons for every 200 sq ft, resulting in 20 mil thickness. If Flash coat is not completely dry solvents are still gassing off and will cause wrinkling if main coat is put down before flash is dry. This will extent time needed to flatten out and dry.
