How many gallons do I need for a 12 × 8 ft pond?

Answered by PondPro support

One gallon covers 40 sq ft and a 5 gallon pail covers 200 sq ft. Measure the whole wetted surface — floor and walls, not just the opening at the top. A pond that size normally works out at one pail plus one gallon, $525.25 all in, which is about $26 a year across the 20 year warranty. Put your measurements into the coverage calculator and it adds the right amount to your cart.

Customer added: “Calculator said one pail plus a gallon and that is exactly what it took.”

Can I coat over an EPDM liner that has already failed?

Answered by PondPro support

Yes. It goes on in one coat with no primer, straight over a failed third-party coating. On EPDM put a light flash coat down first and leave it 24 hours, then apply the main coat. It also works on concrete, fiberglass, acrylic, weathered vinyl, TPO, pools, fountains and concrete tanks.
